Gear failure unlikely in Clipsal crash : "V8 Supercars boss Wayne Cattach said there were no indications of safety equipment failure in a fatal crash on the weekend."
We were hoping against hope that Ashley Cooper might pull through the crash. it was a big crash at high speed and it's true, you often see drivers climb out and carry on. What has happened to Ashley is so sad and not a t all what we want. High speed races create high speed crashes but I am certain the family doesn't want to hear that right now. There will be a lot of heartache and soul searching and we are all saddened by this . If there was any fault they will find it because this kind of loss weighs heavily on everyone involved in motor racing and so they search carefully through the evidence. We are so sorry and our thoughts are with Ashley's family.
