Help us, we're sinking, says Niue

Help us, we're sinking, says Niue : "'The majority of the people in the world are helpless. We have to tell those people who are major players to take some big responsibility ... We are their brothers. For goodness sake, do something,' he said."

Tiny islands are in danger of being submerged and this plays on their minds all the time. They do not have the resources we have...so they are not polluting like we are, so while we talk about tax cuts and whatever else might win an election, what about the real issues? What about our global responsibility?Something we care about very deeply. We don't want all these climate disasters and to lose nations underwater is horrible and it is even more horrible we are not listening. Well, we are, politicians are not. Where are the plans and programmes which will reassure us? Reassure our neighbours? They speak and we say nothing. Leaders plan and it's all about money. We care about people.
