We do and of course it's bloomin' unprecedented. No one has healed the great divide before. No one has made us one nation before. Of course we want to participate in it. Of course we want to see it. This is good history and I thought about it at the supermarket today when I saw an aboriginal family there. They weren't speaking English. It needs to be done in their language/es too...they need to be able to understand first hand what we are doing and we should give them subtitles or a dubbed version on big screens in their communities and then they will maybe understand there are so many of us who want to make that gesture of saying sorry...that we actually know they have other languages they have a right to use and that English is a second or third language for them. We need to bridge those psychological gaps now and we need to validate their linguistic heritage as well...and I am certain we'll all feel so much better for it. The rest will take time and thought.
