Owning a home 'life's biggest dream'

AdelaideNow... Owning a home 'life's biggest dream': "The top three goals for South Australians included seeing more of the world, volunteering and owning their own home."

Typical of South Australians they would want to volunteer. We are helpers by nature and we will use our skills to help others. Some SA people travel overseas to help and though we are not the only people to volunteer , the concept is widely accepted. It means we are less self centred, it means we get a lot of experience and it means we have the knowledge that we help others as well as ourselves. The home has always been a dream here. Everyone has always wanted to own a home so it's not a surprise. Travelling is also rated highly because we are a small state in numbers and we know we have to get out there to see how others live. Travelling is also important to us because we need to broaden our own horizons and we really enjoy finding out about other places and people. It's common for Australians to do the big OS trip but it is becoming increasingly popular here for young people to be working overseas.
