Police make drug arrests at Adelaide Big Day Out.

Police make drug arrests at Adelaide Big Day Out. : "But they have commended the behaviour of the 35,000-strong crowd, saying only four people were arrested for minor offences."

I get the impression that this year it went pretty well. For a lot of kids this is a big day out and they really look forward to it and just want to enjoy the artists they can see at such a good price. My impression this year is kids didn't want others mucking it up for them. It sounds like the good won. It's pretty unfortunate when a few mar and spoil things for so many and then a whole event gets a bad name. It's always badly placed in Adelaide because it comes in the first week of the new school year and quite a few parents are so annoyed they are trying to get their kids off to school with the right attitude and then it's all messed up by the Big Day Out. I think we took it more in our stride this year and maybe the timing can be looked at but people consider the big states first, so we won't hold our breath. If the police had an easier time of it and more kids were happy and well, then we need to be encouraged to keep doing what we are doing because it's working. I must say you see hardly any sad cases around the shops these days so I think all our efforts are starting to pay off.
