Doctor diagnoses minister's tumour

Doctor diagnoses minister's tumour on TV : "'He told me you had better get that seen to. I am an extremely lucky person that this consultant was sitting at home with his wife and spotted what was happening,' Lenihan told RTE state radio."

Thi swas in the World Wide Weird section of The Australian. It's not weird. It's fantastic. I guess lots of doctors see lots of things and at some stage they might have to rationalise how much they keep diagnosing other people. I twould escalate their load and it would take time when they need to rest, but this particular doctor took the time and energy to contact the minister whose lump he'd noticed on TV. As it turned out, it was a benign tumour. I just think it's great there are still people in the world who care about others and maybe that's why it's weird. Maybe we think it's odd to show that level of concern. Yes, get lumps checked out...yours, your family's and your pets'.
