Downer, brigadier clash over Iraq

AdelaideNow... Downer, brigadier clash over Iraq:

"The commander of Australian forces in the Middle East, Brigadier Mick Moon, predicts 12 to 18 months should be enough time for the Iraqis to take direct control of security."

When brigadiers and generals are giving their expert opinion who is the government to ignore it? I can't believe they think they know better than the men in command of the troops and the men who are there in charge 24/7. These men actually know what they are talking about. How can you dismiss them like that?? The politicians really need to wake up and join the rest of us.
