Rocket launcher found in home

The Australian: Rocket launcher found in home :

"A PERTH man has been charged with firearms possession after a large cache of weapons and military equipment, including a rocket launcher, was allegedly found at his home.

The 31-year-old man is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Friday to face three charges of aggravated possession of firearms, police said.

The charges were laid after Tactical Investigation Group officers seized the weapons and military equipment from a home in the Perth suburb of Merriwa.

The items allegedly seized also included three pistols, five home-made projectiles, a shotgun, a stun gun, a crossbow and an infra-red trip wire, officers said.

Also seized were ballistic vests and helmets, a silencer and laser sight, and an assorted range of ammunition, police alleged."

I don't normally publish the whole article , but I am gobsmacked with the amount of weaponry in a suburban home these days!! Who needs this much protecting and who , in Australia, needs a list of weapons like this? What was the plan? How do people not notice this was being brought home or did they notice and thought they had better keep quiet? How would you safely notify about someone like this? BUT...where on earth did he buy it and didn't anyone notice he was buying it??? Where did the military equipment come from? Don't people notice when it goes missing?? Thank heavens the Tactical Investigation Group were on the ball and if they have to confront this, how safe are they and how well trained are they? Can't we X Ray houses like we do baggage??? I'd hate to live next door to that lot!
