Warrawong Sanctuary

Jobs lost in animal sanctuary changes :

"The eight permanent part-time restaurant workers and tour guides were yesterday told they had been made redundant, while 25 casual staff had been advised they would have little to do during a refurbishment expected to be completed by February next year."

They can take the native animals off the menu too while they are at it. It is not good to visit the animals in the wild and then find them on the menu. It's very difficult to explain that to overseas visitors too. Tact, sensitivity, rethink and restructure. Yes, I agree with all of that and certainly the food available needs to have a greater emphasis on what we eat and we are not really in the habit of eating our wildlife. Yes, we have eaten snake and crocodile, kangaroo..blah blah but you don't go to a sanctuary to eat it. Warrawong is beautiful and it has been a lovely place for people to get married and a lovely place to take visitors because it's not that far from town...but it's bizarrely exclusive in its overall presentation and that is not us.
