Poor Devils

Quarantine site defended despite Tas devil deaths. :

"'The tree essentially presented a problem within the enclosure and the devils took advantage of that and they burrowed underneath the roots.'"

Well, stupid tree for being in the enclosure where the Devils might want to burrow. It may well be a state of the art quarantine enclosure but when burrows collapse , then it's not very classy because we killed four more. Poor Devils. They are having a hard time getting ahead at the moment. I do actually have faith in our animal management people, but the enclosure isn't obviously as good as they thought. Do the Devils normally burrow under trees? They'll sort it out, that's for sure. Meanwhile the devils will just have to trust us.
