No Leave No Life

"The campaign, "No Leave, No Life", will point to a range of holiday packages to entice workers to tear themselves away from their desks and emerge blinking into the sunlight."

I am so pleased to hear this and long service was created to help people manage a full time , long term working life. It was never meant to be saved or somehow cashed in. But we have had enormous workaholic pressures on us in recent years. It has been relentless and many people have just died or got sick, really sick. It has been noticeable over the past 4 years in particular. People have to learn they can take a break. That work is not he be all and end all. There is the other side of it where people can get to try out positions in the short term too. We have used this to good effect at work. That way soemone gets a chance in a safe , supported environment while someone is taking a well earned rest. It is not good if that positon is not covered though and that has happened and it throws the strain on the rest of the employees. If people have leave they need to be covered properly. A number of people have been able to use the short term positions to make further sensible and realistic choices about their careers. So if now we are going to get people to use that leave it will free up positons and it will mean people will be forced to realise they are working too hard!! They are allowed to have a rest and we have had to work really hard on some men at work to get them to do just that...and it takes a lot of psychology, I can tell you!!
