'Just Say No' to drugs has failed

'Just Say No' to drugs has failed : "I'm not saying you're wrong. The trouble is nobody is listening. Certainly not young people, not even if they have as much to lose as Ben Cousins and Heath Ledger."

Very clever article and extremely well written. The bottom line it's your choice, your drug of choice, your consequences. You can choose slow and painful or quick and painful. You can choose to damage a lot of people. You can choose to lose all you have. You can choose to bring down others. Yes, call in the facts. The facts are really good. And show the pictures. Don't hide from the truth and don't create arguments. Show them the pictures, give them the facts and then, if they choose to go down that road...we have a choice too. We can cut them loose and refuse to help them. How much money does it cost to support rehab programmes and how many resources are being tied up with drug related issues? All of that could go elsewhere to other needs. Yes, we could choose to do that too.
