Pittman offers to hand over relay gold to England.

Pittman offers to hand over relay gold to England. :

"Team England's performance director Brad McStravick has told ABC TV's Offsiders program that Pittman's sole gesture would not resolve the issue.

'If all four of the Australian girls were of a similar view then it might be worth talking about, but I think just giving one gold medal to the team won't really achieve an awful lot,' he said.

McStravick said the credibility of Pittman's intention to hand over the gold medal could come into question.

'I think some of the girls wondered whether it was just to try and make peace before she came over, so that she wouldn't face any animosity once she was living in England and training in England,' he said."

If you knew Tamsin and Jana you would know Jana isn't doing this to curry favour and that Tamsin didn't do it because she thought it would cause a stir. If Tamsin thought he girl was in the wrong position she would have raised it as an issue and presumably people far more important than she have discussed this. Wrong position is the wrong position. In that respect there is nothing to discuss. Jana would have been looking to what she thought and she would have made her own judgements about what happened and is genuinely embarrassed if that is what she decided she felt. Jana is like Shane Warne. She performs well and even performs brilliantly but she is constantly criticised. She is bigger than that as is Shane Warne. If she has offered to give up her medal it's because she genuinely believes she wants to show her goodwill, not get herself in the good books. She's never been in the good books and she knows it and it is a sad fact of her life.
