Brits refuse to say sorry

Brits refuse to say sorry : "He said the policy of removing indigenous children from their families was based on the theories of English eugenics intellectuals, who believed aboriginality to be a degenerate trait and should be bred out."

When Britain says it is our matter, then they are right. Our matter to resolve. That they cannot say sorry is a bit odd because we are supposed to be in enlightened times . It's as basic as when you find out something horrible has happened to someone , you say sorry. When you find out it is part of your heritage , you wonder how on earth people thought like that so you say sorry. When my brother in law died , people who hardly knew me even said sorry because they knew it was a hard thing for me to manage. It's just about looking at what is happening for others or what has happened for them and saying...sorry...I don't actually want to be a part of that type of thinking because I think it is horrid. if we can repair it ourselves, we are well on the way to some measure of independence because we can look at our history and know how it happened, what we endorse and what we reject. I like Mr. Robertson. he can see the facts in context and know the context makes the people of the time look pretty ill informed in their views. I read about different nations and their history and it makes you feel sad what has happened to some people and how some groups have treated others in such a cruel fashion. You cannot make people feel sorrow though and sometimes that is what you learn about others and that is a good lesson in itself.
