Boy, 11, saves dad, runs for help

Boy, 11, saves dad, runs for help : "'He's performed CPR on his father and he got the courage to walk 3km down the track to raise the alarm. That to me is one of the most heroic acts I've seen.'"
The little boy was on the news last night and although it was clear that Mum was so touched and moved by it all, little Lachlan was just very unassuming and "normal". To him it all made perfect sense and he was shaken but not disturbed....like any special agent. A great little kid and what a person to have in a crisis. Thank heavens his school had taught CPR and this is not the first child to be on the news who has saved others because of the life saving lessons they have had at school. Children remember things well and take things in carefully when there is a ritual or routine. Lachlan is living proof that the power of a child's knowledge needs to be encouraged and fed. He's still a kid, but he remembered to check for breathing, he remembered how to do CPR and then he had to work out how to get help. He is a fearless, very rational and logical thinker who did what needed to be done...and his Dad can thank him for that when he's better. They have raised a great child.
