Japan's inmates dislike 'unstylish' pyjamas: survey : "Japanese prisoners dislike their unstylish pyjamas, feel their cells are too small and want better meals, a government survey has found."
Well, if they do not like their unstylish pyjamas, they will just have to stop their unstylish lifestyles. Seriously, an article like this is only going breed ill will and is very demeaning to 2007. By now we ought to be able to do three things. We ought to be able to get the right people in gaol. We ought to be able to provide a stable, humane penal system and we ought to be able to work out why people commit crimes so we can stop our society from creating people like this. Too often we find the people in prisons have had horrendous upbringings, they are mentally ill, they have problems with addiction, drugs and a lack of skills. There are people who are totally unsafe for us to have in our communities and unfortunately we cannot fix everyone. We do not even understand everyone. We need to think about how we can resolve some of these cases. We won't fix it all and it won't be fast because cognitive restructuring takes time. An article like this just keeps creating the divide instead of the problem solving strategies we need...I don't think PJs have anything to do with it.
