Holidaymakers warned against feeding wildlife

Holidayers warned against feeding wildlife : "'Kangaroos have naturally evolved to eat natural things, food that's found in the bush, so a kangaroo that's fed a pack of jelly beans obviously isn't going to react positively to that experience, and may well become quite sick,' he said."

Pretty irresponsible and thoughtless to hand out jelly beans or whatever to kangaroos. Is that serious? It's really silly to give non nutritious food to anyone and to give it to our wild life is really negligent. Bad enough we cannot sustain ourselves properly without making holes in our fauna. I do wish we'd think. Sound like an old school ma'am but honestly, it's almost criminal...to feed ourselves with rubbish and then put rubbish in the mouths of animals. Most of us are pretty good at knowing what to do when. There are times where we have to leave water and food out for birds and kangaroos. The heat, the lack of rain and the dryness have a big impact on their environment and a bit of a helping had now and again helps them to survive because we have destroyed their vegetation, so I think we need to be mindful of that. It's about education and awareness. We need to teach people what is the right thing because a lot of people have just grown up in houses with pavers and pergolas all around. They just wouldn't know .
