A-Browser

IBM helps blind 'see' web video: "Technology giant, IBM, is soon to launch a multimedia browser to make audio and video content accessible to people with vision impairments."

It's about time the top technology companies did something to stop people with disabilities being marginalised. This is 2007 and I'd expect to see some treal breakthroughs in technology which would help all sorts of people who have disabilities being able to lead more normal lives. If we can put men on the moon, if we can have International Space Stations then surely helping people with various degrees of disability ought to be a doddle. If nothing else it would be a bona fide challenge for our best technical experts. It would give them a realistic challenge with the reward of knowing they had done something to move us forward as a human race. I'm tired of being in this millennium and all we have are repeats of the human behaviour of previous centuries. Time to move on. The A-Browser is a great step in moving on.
