Give meat pies the boot

AdelaideNow... Give meat pies the boot: "'You would not see the footy players who are on strict diets and exercise regimes eating pies, so why are the supporters?' Mr Bilsborough said. Celebrity diet guru Dr John Tickell says it is at least time for the AFL to make sure healthier options are the same price as fast food."
They are supporters. They are not on a fitness regime. You can be whoever you are and support. The great pie debate again. Nothing wrong with a pie if it is made properly and the supporters are often out there in the cold and wet so they need something warm and comforting and it often is the standard pie or pastie. Neither of them are bad foods unles the ingredients are poor. Same with sausage rolls. You cannot be in the freezing cold and not have something warm and it's true, the food outlets need to look at what is offered. I went to some expo and everything there was chips, wedges, fat and glug. Not a lettuce leaf in sight. The weather was warm, a salad roll would have been great. I ate nothing. I suggest they look at the quality of what is offered because food should be exactly that and if someone wants to eat a pie or pastie...then so be it.
