P-plater's parents beg forgiveness

P-plater's parents beg forgiveness for son : "His parents said their hearts ached for the men's families."

This is very kind of the parents . Their son was 19 and he killed two men last Friday by driving on the wrong side of the road. Their loss is great. But the son did this. They are not responsible nor should they take responsibility. It is time for 19 year olds to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. The parents must be beside themselves and the families of the other men must be horrified and so sad. At some stage we need people who take responsibility for their actions and we seem to have lost touch with that aspect of socialisation. When they finish their investigations they will probably discover again that this could have been avoided. I really do think we need to front up to this and fix it.
