Businesses urged to cut e-waste

Businesses urged to cut e-waste on clean-up day. : "Clean-up Australia chairman Ian Kiernan says electronic waste is being sent to landfill at three times the rate of general waste.

Mr Kiernan says legislation is needed to oblige manufacturers to collect and recycle e-waste products."

Talking about it is going to get the ball rolling. We all need to do something and it's not something we need to feel bad about. We have had a flurry of activity for the last 10 years trying to implement technology in our homes and workplaces. It has been coming at us thick and fast and we have all been through a J learnign curve. It's a good sign we are NOTICING the heap of technological junk which is replaces so frequently. We are getting into ourstride so yes, now is the time to make the clean up and recycling of e-waste easy. No one has made that a normal part of living. We need a plan and some avenues of logical disposal. It needs to be built into our lifestyle like other recycling.
