Gum Trees

This is often how you look at the sky in Australia. Through the gum trees. They are awesome. Massive. Magnificent. Big. Solid. Gigantic. There. Their leaves are solid and decompose very slowly. The bark peels and leaves a mess but that also decomposes slowly. They are home to hundreds of birds and insects. Like nature's condominiums. At night the trunks can stand out quite starkly but they guide your way. They are inspiring. Amazing. Unique. They grow 2 or 3 storeys high. So mighty. So powerful. I took this photo today because the gums looked particularly solid and beautiful and provided some welcome shade.
