Safety campaign to promote seatbelt use :
"She says the television and radio campaign will aim to highlight the risks of ignoring a key safety feature of all vehicles.
'We have the main messages the dangers of speeding, drink-driving, fatigue, inattention,' she said."
It probably is time for us to repeat all our safety campaigns and messages which were all very successful in their day. Some of us have been assuming we all have the messages safely planted in us and have forgotten that the world has moved on and the new drivers and cyclists haven't had the benefit of our educative safety programmes. Kids probably have no idea why they should be wearing helmets when they ride bikes and we haven't had the very pointed crash dummy ads about seat belts for quite sometime. We need to build a repeat safety net into our safety programmes so the new ones get those same, vital messages. It's all news to them!
