Microsoft wins biggest health deal

Australian IT - Microsoft wins biggest health deal :

"NSW Health will standardise its information technology systems on Microsoft products under a $36 million, three-year deal to upgrade core infrastructure and provide a platform for the state's e-health record system.

With an option to extend the agreement to six years, Microsoft will potentially earn $72 million, making it the software giant's largest-ever contract in Australia."

Microsoft produces products people can use and manages to get some big deals because of it. Will the e-health system work with all OS's? I heard that our e-banking will also be driven by Microsoft products but won't or can't work with all operating systems. Microsoft is right up there with the useability for your average person on a computer , but the compatibility issues are the things which drive people nuts. That and trying to load most new software onto a computer which is not on the Net. Software developers seem to think everyone is and wants to be on the Net and so they try and make it easy with online registration and online updates. It takes a while when you buy products which you want to run offline!! Lessons in patience and tolerance.
