Condoleezza-Rice

Rice visit aims to ensure Gaza pullout. :

"United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is to visit Israel and the Palestinian territories to urge both sides to keep Israel's planned pullout from Gaza on track, despite renewed violence."

I have heard Condoleeza-Rice being described as hardline and when I have heard her speak she doesn't come out with platitudes but she does come out with a list of expectations. She is quite clear about what she wants and what I haven't worked out yet is whether she sits and listens to the other side and then negotiates from that point onwards. She appears to listen from the video footage shown of her and other times she just seems to be there like most politicians. What I have noticed, though, is she has spent most of her time with the people and nations which she believes need some of her or America's input. She goes where no man has gone before and spends days there trying to do whatever she is trying to do. That bit is always a bit blurry in the news. She has been ,and she still is , putting herself out into some very difficult political situations and my impression is that people in those countries actually like the fact she bothers to go there and accord them her time. To go to Israel and Palestine and be one of the people trying to smooth the way for the Gaza strip pull out is quite big of her really. Everyone else in our English speaking world just says a lot of things from a safe distance. So, I am going to watch this lady because inspite of what I've heard, she's the one going out to the Sudan , Asia, France, Israel , Palestine and maybe the fact I don't hear her clap trapping about this and that is also a good thing.
