Postal Vote Fraud - Tory arrested

UK Election news and comment from The Times and The Sunday Times - Times Online:

"In Birmingham, where the first electoral court for more than a century was convened this year to convict five Labour councillors of vote-rigging, West Midlands Police have conducted house-to-house inquiries to verify postal vote applications to avoid a repeat of the “industrial scale” fraud that blighted the city in last year’s local elections."

Can't anyone be trusted these days?? There was so much inquiry into the American electronic voting practices for their Federal election and now there is this postal vote enquiry going on in England for their national elections. We all got up the next day after our federal elections and were as depressed as anything to find out the government really had been returned. But no one raised any inquiries. We were so depressed we didn't talk for at least 3 weeks and just let the world rattle by. So what kind of democracy do we have here in our free world?
