Hot rock energy

Hot rock energy potential:

"Australia's potential for clean base load electricity generation driven by hot rock energy was enormous, a conference was told.

Over the past decade scientists taking Australia's temperature have discovered that although the nation has little potential for conventional geothermal power - there was plenty of scope for a variation on the theme."

In 1997 they had a programme on Quantum about hot rock energy and they were saying things like it would supply us with power for the next 800 years. It was fascinating but a bit unbelievable. On tonight's news they were at the site of the hot rock energy and it was real, it was exciting and it was still unbelievable but they were saying it would supply us with 70 years of clean fuel. It is brillaint to see scientists make the most of nature in a positive way and do something to combat our ever increasing destructive manner on earth. This was such a turn around. I was so stunned we humans were doing something positive!
