Cheney's gun victim 'sorry for the trouble'

Scotsman.com Cheney's gun victim 'sorry for the trouble':

"THE lawyer shot by Dick Cheney during a hunting trip said yesterday he was sorry for all the trouble the United States vice-president had faced over the past week."

There's a saying that "it could only happen in America", but I do not believe Americans will be happy about this at all. We saw Harry Whittington's apology(!!!) on the news tonight. He looks shaken, ill and very fragile and there he was apologising for him and his family causing "everything" which had happened to Dick Cheney and his family. There has been some discussion about how the accident occurred and at what distance the gun was fired, but there has been no discussion of the fact Dick Cheney shot this man and that it also contributed to a heart attack for this man. That he has come on televsion to apologise for what? Being there while someone shot him?? It's not something you pretend didn't happen and that it has been made to seem that the victim should be ashamed of himself is ghastly. I do hope this is set right and that the man who was shot gets the sympathy and equity he deserves. I could not believe it. The world is mad, truly. It's a bit like women have to feel really bad about being beaten up. "It was her fault, she asked for it". I hope this is cleared up in a fair and proper way because it was not his fault someone shot him. I cannot stand this back to front thinking we engage in.
