Today's challenge for the Ministry of Peace

AM - Hidden face of conflict: girls in war zones:

"TANYA NOLAN: More than half of the 120,000 girls are involved in direct combat, but many perform other duties such as cooking, cleaning and carrying supplies."

I heard this report on the radio today and was so terribly sad when I heard it. War...why? Why would you do this to your children? And when you find out aid agencies can do little to help and the girls, who are as young as 8, can't really be reintegrated into their communities when they have been used in the war zones ( both literally and figuratively speaking), you wonder why we human beings have ever considered war.
