Secret fees cost $500m

The Advertiser:

"BANKS could be reaping up to $500 million a year charging customers to withdraw their own cash from teller machines and eftpos."

Banks have been scamming for years now. Since we have had electronic banking we have been charged and charged and charged. It's daylight robbery and we know it. They laugh all the way to the bank! The transaction fees are ludicrous and the amount of time we spend doing do- it- yourself banking must be making them laugh. I can't believe they get away with it and not a single political party has put forward a way to bring back "proper" banking. My savings used to grow in the bank. Now I have to watch like a hawk to make sure they don't dwindle. It's illogical from a customer point of view. It becomes a very cynical exercise for the young ones.
