S'bloody wet!

"ADELAIDE'S reservoirs this month have received more than a quarter of the past year's total rainfall inflow as a result of heavy winter rain in the Mount Lofty Ranges."
It just keeps raining and we just keep putting on our coats and gloves and reaching for the brollies. We have had to remind ourselves of the dangers of excess rain because it has meant some close calls for hikers and people living in the hills. Everyone has forgotten that water runs downhill and a lot of water creates mud which slides downhill and even more water creates torrents which run downhill. The reservoir situation has improved considerably but I can imagine the hot dry conditions may have created some structural problems now it is so wet...raining , raining, always raining. It is just so nice to see Adelaide green again. We know about hot and crispy, brown ,bone dry...so  it's nice to see the greeness around us. Many of us like the semi rural feel of Adelaide. That is a big part of the attraction of living here. There is only so much concrete, brick and bitumen you can take and if you have a craving for the hard and inanimate...well, choose away...there are heaps of metropolises to pick from.
