The hyper-rich

Richest Are Leaving Even the Rich Far Behind:

"When F. Scott Fitzgerald pronounced that the very rich 'are different from you and me,' Ernest Hemingway's famously dismissive response was: 'Yes, they have more money.' Today he might well add: much, much, much more money."

There is only so much money in a country and only so much money in the world. If there is unequal distribution of wealth and the top end is even richer...that must mean a lot more people are poorer. Yes, they work hard for their money...but systems and structures need to change so everyone has a least a decent and safe level of living. The hper- rich syndrome is not just in America. It is happening all over. Somehow our current policies and practices are supporting the top end to enable them excess so the bottom end must be experiencing unnecessary deficits. How so? The economists will need to explain it to me. In that sense globalisation of companies could equate with an even bigger increases at the top because there is access to a greater number at the bottom. Someone needs to explain that to me as well. We have enough planetary wealth for everyone to live well. We'll even accept some people have more than others. But excess ? The deprivation model needs to be changed.
