Hawks vice-captain Luke Hodge won the Norm Smith Medal while veteran Shane Crawford won his first premiership after making his debut in 1993.
First time they have won the premiership in 17 years and it must have felt brilliant for them and their fans . They worked hard to get there. I can't believe I decided to back them yesterday just to have a team to back and then they won!! Had to be me! Geelong is a pretty strong side and had control of most of the match...but hey diodn't win. The Hawks won and when you hear the modesty in their voices and their balanced approach to life, then you know why they won yesterday.it was a really good match but the wisdon that has come from it is worth its weight in gold for up and coming players.Now I might take more than a cursory look at teh Hawks next year!
