Western Swamp Tortoises

Rare tortoises released at Moore River : "“We’ll continue to monitor the tortoises and habitat to determine if the site is suitable to sustain a wild population.”"

The West Australian
newspaper has developed a pretty cruisy new site in my absence...but there is this really heart warming story on there tonight...with a cute picture. It's amazing how hard and lovingly our conservationists and environmentalists work to repair the damage brought about by urbanisation or our drastic weather conditions. In this case they have been working long and hard to regenerate the populations of the Western Swamp Tortoises. I hope to hear that the release into the wild is successful and all their time and care has been rewarded.
