Australian Angie Darby 33rd in pentathlon after two events

Australian Angie Darby 33rd in pentathlon after two events : "Ms Cordaro said Darby told her she stopped because her goggles had come loose and water had flooded into her eyes."

She fought for her place on the team and that appears to have been a very emotional and intense run up to the Olympics. She is 20 years old and competing in 5 different , very demanding events. It sounds like she is swamped. I haven't seen the running event where she stopped. She may well have been disorientated. She may not be able to process all she has been though and everything she has to be able to do to compete. Most people would have lifted the goggles off as they ran and maybe cleaned them on something but I don't suppose the brief outfits allow for the handy hankie! She sounds as though she is not coping and she probably needs to be helped through this and if she does badly, she does badly.Support wouldn't go astray until we get to the bottom of this. Trauma can make you very vague and unpredictable and that is how she is behaving, as though she were traumatised..
