Spurned lover makes 10,000 calls to ex : "A DUMPED girlfriend plagued her ex with more than 10,000 calls and text messages in 65 days, a British court has heard."

No doubt he has found the whole ordeal harrowing and justice will be done...but the woman is clearly very unbalanced and ill and needs to be treated not put on trial. The difficulty with mental unbalance is it has to go too far before people can be noticed and then they are tried rather than treated. We need a far better mechanism for picking up mental unbalance. Once people become ill then they can sometimes be dangerous and very difficult to deal with. We don't deal with this at all well. With physical illness we can pick up the illness at the first signs of headaches, running noses, temperature or rash. With mental illness we have no early intervention methods and so people involved with people become too distressed and the person themselves becomes quite out of hand so that they are often a danger to themselves and others.
