Printing subsidy likely to be cut

EXCLUSIVE Printing subsidy likely to be cut : "Originally set at $8000 a year, the allowance hit a peak at $150,000 a year in 2005 as a result of the Coalition winning an absolute majority in the Senate."

Go for it! I hate those election leaflets and govt brochures. We have the internet. We have local papers. We have TV, radio and MP3/4 players. Give us bulletin boards, net sites, podcasts but for heaven's sake save our trees and our money. In this day and age it's ridiculous to put that much paper into he system to clog it up. Mine go straight in the recycle bin. I look up what I want to know on the Net or I listen to parliament. It's quite tolerable these days. One of my local MPs puts out a regular newsletter and that is fantastic. I appreciate that. When it comes to elections you need to get detailed information and a brochure or leaflet cannot do that. We need to save money and carbon. Put the money into transport, schools and hospitals please.
