Drink Driving

The Advertiser: DRINK-DRIVE IDIOTSWON'T GET MESSAGE :

"'I cannot comprehend how a normal, rational human being can drive above the limit and not expect to be apprehended, or risk injury, or become a fatality.'"

Well, then we are obviously dealing with very special, very irrational, abnormal people who are above the law, who deem themselves capable when the rest of us are not, who think the rules are for other people. It is very diffuclt to convince people of demi god persuasion that they are, in fact, quite ordinary. Tougher penalties are not working and if we are picking them up at the rate of 400 a month then Adelaide is obviously blessed with a great many people who are the centre of the universe. I believe demi gods need different rules. We are obviously not worthy of driving on the same roads as people who are able to manage a car while inebriated. I suspect some good hard facts might help. Proof, evidence. I think they need to visit the people in hospital who were also demi gods, perhaps the graves. Perhaps they need some clear demonstrations by scientists how drink and driving do not mix. And then I think they should be required to take alternative transport. They really are above driving on ordinary roads and we should accord them the special privilege of being driven. Seriously, a good clinical psychologist or two should get onto these people with delusions of grandeur.
