Irate residents get loud in Music Bowl noise fight

Irate residents get loud in Music Bowl noise fight: "Trouble between the venue operators, promoters, residents and the Environmental Protection Authority has been brewing at the bowl for a while, but appears to have escalated."

It's true. Creating more living space in cities means there are more people and their needs to consider. Those with clout will win. The shared spaces have to be negotiated. It had to come and this is a perfect example of how there is a clash of interests. The city was always the place for big events. Clearly that is changing...which means the life will change in the city. You can't have events without noise but living with that noise can cut right across your life. I have guests over the Clipsal weekend here because where they live will be constant concert and V8 noise. It's a great event. People love it, but those who live in the city do not have any private space during that time. Sooner or later we'll create sound barrier technology so that noises can be contained or deflected to a better spot! For now, we have to negotiate!!
