Boat berths triple in value: "In the past 12 months, 58 berths have sold in SA. The top price for a slice of water at the Holdfast Promenade marina was $950,000. Forty-three berths sold the previous year."
We are finally there. Australia used to be for everyone. Now we finally have the indulged, the privileged the real haves. Won't they lend some style and class to our former equitable beach fronts and ports. At last...a slice of the good life is here...we've worked hard on raising house prices, mortgages, investments, shares and now we have the richly rich. Luckily, a lot of Australians still have their run abouts and will be able to enjoy our lifestyle without the worry of the high cost of image. If, however, these expensive boat berths mean we'll develop more marinas, then I am all for that because a) marinas really lend to the atmosphere of a coastal area and b) we could really do with marinas along our coast to keep our boaties safe in poor conditions. There is nowhere where they can take safe haven.
