Australia wins second athletics gold

Australia wins second athletics gold: "Deakes, 30, from Geelong, clocked a winning time of three hours 43 minutes
and 53 seconds."

The French came second! This is Nathan Deakes first World Championship medal so he must be feeling pretty proud of himself and it will make all that training and sacrifice take on a different perspective. Now , at last, we are getting some decent news about this important event. There ought to be a song and dance about it because the athletes can perform better at the World Championships than they do at the Olympics. I think we just got lost in the footie. So, well done Nathan and let's get ready for a stunning 5000m run by Craig Mottram tomorrow night!
