Rents rocket in boom town

AdelaideNow... Rents rocket in boom town: "'The most expensive house in Roxby Downs four years ago was about $200,000 and we've just broken through the $500,000 mark. I can remember selling a house there about 4 1/2 years ago that was difficult to sell at about $92,000."

The great mining boom. Advantage money. Disadvantage no money. So those with money get more. Just like the industrial revolution. Why do we never change? I hear Roxby is a pretty good place to live and there's a good sense of community. To keep it happy and well will advantage it and like any other boom, people will make money from it. I'd like to think the workers can benefit as well and that we'll create a mining town which is a model for others. Mining towns haven't had a good history even though they have made personal fortunes for some. To create a viable mining town for everyone would be fantastic. meanwhile...property investment...that-a-way.
