We're not as friendly as Canadians

AdelaideNow... We're not as friendly as Canadians: "But Australia managed to hold down the top spot as a holiday destination 'if money was no object' and ranks as the country richest in natural beauty, closely followed by New Zealand."

I have to admit the Canadians I have met are really easy to get to know, very friendly, know a lot and have a real enthusiasm for life. When they are here they know how to get the best out of our lifestyle and country. If China has ousted us as a top brand name for a country then it is because they have worked really hard at promoting themselves, their culture and their country. They too are very easy to get to know once the language barrier is broken. We have made some effort to learn Chinese and a number of people here now are better at Chinese than they were. We do have a long and good set of ties with China and Chinese people. I think we can never sit on our laurels. We do have some spectacular countryside and we do have a lot to offer. Some of it is lost because we lose our values at times and do not put our minds into developing our intellectual capacities. Lots of Australians forge a very happy, relaxed lifestyle which promotes success and wellbeing. Lots of Australians tie themselves up with a low level approach too and ,at the moment, we are at a cross roads. We let a few colour the life and experiences of others. We have never allowed ourselves to carry that kind of "dead wood" before. We used to always be sorting out the "dead wood". Now we are a bit confused. We seem reluctant to put pressure on the few who are really doing a lot of harm to others. We'll work it out. We always do.
