Voters 'will see through' IR ad campaign

Voters 'will see through' IR ad campaign : "'John Howard should stop ripping Australian taxpayers off. He should be putting hard-earned taxpayer money into important things like health and education,' she said."

True enough. We don't want our taxes used to tell us what we already know. The assumption is we haven't looked at the IR laws. We looked at them when they were first mooted, we looked at them when they were put in place. We are still looking at them. It is actually fantastic we have been looking at the implications of the IR laws. It is testament to the fact that we had very good workplace relations and information. It is testament to the fact that working Australians were party to negotiation and change. The new IR laws have stopped that because they are about the benefits to the employer and then the employee has to fit in with that or not. It's about profit and productivity. It's a business model. We had great work place forums and we were negotiating everything so that common agreements could be met. There was a really informed way of doing things. To use our taxes to advertise to us tells us our money is being wasted. Before we had avenues and contacts we could access easily to keep abreast of change and workplace reform. We had input into it as did employers. Now we all know enough people who have been affected by the new IR laws to know that we are not happy about them. Already too many people have been affected so people are going elsewhere or they are pulling out of the work force in one way or another. Retail seems to be hit quite hard judging by the turnover of staff there. Now, if nothing else , just the words IR law have a bad impact. Very unfortunate really, but please, spend our money on things of use to us. We weren't even consulted on that.
