Disadvantaged pears

Don't judge pear by cover : "'Look beneath the skin. The quality is in the eating, not in the appearance,' said Darral Ashton, chairman of Apple and Pear Australia. 'It's not about what they look like in the fruit bowl. We want them in the fridge and we want people to eat them and come back for more.'"

Okay, so now our fruit won't look very appetising but it will taste all right. Frankly, I think we'll go by the taste and get over the appearance. It's nice to be warned though but I think we have worked out that lovely shiny fruit is often quite tasteless and even inedible. I don't know what they have done to some fruit but it just isn't nice even if it looks glam... so we are ready for fruit looking fruit. We can peel it, stew it or just plain eat it. It's the taste.
