New SA windfarm to power up to 60,000 homes.

New SA windfarm to power up to 60,000 homes. : "Spokesman Graeme Purches says 42 turbines will generate up to 88 megawatts of electricity - enough to power 60,000 households.

'We think it's a very good area for a windfarm. There was an opportunity obviously in terms of more sustainable energy in that region,' he said."

We've got wind power and more of it! We have got to go renewable and this is great, so great. We have room to expand too. We are not a huge population and we have the land, so renewable makes sense here. They are also talking of Sellicks Hill as a site too. I am not sure that Sellicks is a good spot in terms of placement. Sellicks views are beautiful...superb, infact and it is very unspoiled coastline. Maybe there is a spot in Sellicks where they could go and maybe the tall windmills might actually grace the coastline in an odd way as the Opera House landmarks Sydney in a distinctive fashion. We'd have to look at simulated pictures. With the big sky and the vast coast, it might work...and consulting the community is, without doubt, a crucial part of this plan.
