Bush announces African aid :

"'Our countries are developing a proposal for the G8 that will eliminate 100 per cent of that debt,' the US president said."

With Live 8 organised by Bob Geldorf and Messrs Bush and Blair announcing they will write off African debt , the world is looking like a much better place to live in. Helping each other. Working together. Not just taking Africa's resources, or helping Africa kill its own. A bit of good will. Seems funny they won't announce the details..unless they haven't had time to work them out yet! Why not say they are pending and will they consult with the African Governments so that they are bilateral discussions? It makes me very enthusiastic to think we have some chance of producing a forum which will start to resolve some of the most hideous living conditions in the world. I mean, it shouldn't be an accident of your birthplace whether you have a nice life or not. I have always hated that notion. I can't believe I am talking about GOOD news. There should be more of it.
