'Desperate' farmers feed cattle wine industry leftovers. : "A growing number of South Australian cattle farmers are using the wine industry's leftovers to feed stock, because of a shortage of more traditional types of food.
Farmers are feeding animals grape marc, which is the skins and seeds that wineries do not want in their final product."
As long as the food is nutritious and suitable ,then it's great that people can help each other. Waste not want not. It's a good use for the wine marc if it is keeping our cattle healthy and alive and it will take a bit of the strain off farmers if they can source feed from an industry wich supplies the sort of organic waste farmers can use. It's good thinking. What else would happen to the wine marc?
