SADS

Seasons of the mind, storms of the soul: not feeling quite up to scratch? : "The most obvious condition highlighting our meteorological susceptibility is seasonal affective disorder syndrome (SADS). The nearer you live to the North Pole the more common it is. In Canada up to 40 per cent or more of citizens are affected to some degree, but only about 5 per cent severely."

With the weird and whacky weather we are having globally, there is no doubt it is affecting us and some are more sensitive to weather changes that others. This is the forst article I have found looking at why we may react to weather and its patterns. For those of us who can remember seasons we can remember the joy of spring, the semi hibernation and slowing down in winter, the appreciation tinged with a hint of sadness of autumn and the letting it all go and the relaxed lifestyle of summer. Now it's go till we stop. There is no seasonal pattern and as a consequence, no rhythm of life. Go. And go some more and when you've had enough , stop and feel ill, drained and wiped out. This article articulates the effects of weather very well and is well worth the read.
