El Niño fading

More rain forecast amid signs El Nino fading. :

"There are predictions Australia could return to a more normal rainfall pattern next year, with signs that the El Nino effect has peaked."

Well, El Niño, La Niña , whatever , it has been bloomin' dary. We had practically no rain theis winter and the garden look nice and crispy for the start of summer...and then it has been dried out and crisped up some more.
But we all woke up with a surprise downpour this morning. It was bucketing down!! Our reaction was disbelief. Even though we had a storm a week ago, well, this rain came out of the blue and we couldn't believe it!! It hasn't soaked in more than about 3 centimetres. We could so do with some more, especially for the trees. The hills are brown and the trees are staying green but they need the rain badly.
It has been very odd to look up and see that cloudy sky and then feel rain. It's humid even though The Weather Channel is saying it's only 24%. It's been overcast and raining on and off and I cannot believe it!! I won't have to water!!!
